Melania Trump Gushes Over Relationship With ‘Magnetic’ Donald

Melania Trump has gushed about her husband, former President Donald Trump, in a video promoting her upcoming memoir.
“From the moment Donald and I met, there was an undeniable spark,” the former first lady said in a video posted on her X, formerly Twitter, account on Saturday. “There was something magnetic about him, his confidence, his charm, his humor, his vision.”
Their wedding, she said, was “a beautiful affair,” with “a breathtaking gown, a perfectly created menu by a celebrated chef and captivating live performances by music legends.”
The video featured photos from the wedding and ended with a shot of her self-titled memoir, which is due to be released on Tuesday.
The book’s release, just four weeks before Election Day, comes as Melania Trump has been noticeably absent from the campaign trail as her husband seeks to win a second term.
Earlier this week, Melania revealed a contrast with her husband by expressing her support for abortion rights, a top issue in the election, on Thursday.
“Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard,” she said in a video posted on X. “Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth: individual freedom. What does ‘my body, my choice’ really mean?'”
The video came after The Guardian newspaper published an excerpt from her book where she defends abortion rights. “Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body?” she wrote, according to the newspaper.
Donald Trump said he had talked to his wife about the book and told her to “go with your heart” in an interview with Fox News that aired on Thursday. “We spoke about it. And I said, you have to write what you believe. I’m not going to tell you what to do. You have to write what you believe,” he said.
The former first lady’s views are at odds with Trump, who has said abortion law should be left to the states and has taken credit for appointing the three Supreme Court justices who helped overturn Roe vs. Wade, stripping away the constitutional right to abortion. The decision has led to the procedure being banned or restricted in 22 states.
Since then, Trump has sought to present himself as more moderate on the issue as it has become a political liability for Republicans.
He recently said he would veto a national abortion ban if he wins back the White House after previously declining to do so, further frustrating the anti-abortion supporters in his base.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who has made defending abortion rights central to her campaign for the White House, said that reproductive rights would be further threatened if Trump wins a second term.
Experts told Newsweek that while Melania Trump’s defense of abortion rights could harm Trump with anti-abortion voters, it could also work in his favor by appealing to moderate voters.
